Okay, friends, so I’ve fallen behind on posting weekly to my blog. Not the end of the world, but I need to get back in the habit. Here’s the problem:
I’ve been trying to think of what I want to write to you this week, and I got nothing. My brain is mush, incapable of forming complete thoughts.
Took this pic on my deck. It was the first day of my daughter going back to school full-time. Probably only the third time I’d been alone in my house since March.
Seriously, you should see my current works-in-progress. There are lots of words written, but they’re scattered scenes and dialogue that I’m writing into my word processing program randomly. I don’t know why I’m surprised. I work like this, untethered to outlines or strict processes, allowing scenes to come and go. Eventually, they figure out their places in my stories. It’s a process that I’ve learned to lean into. The story works itself out in the end, always.
This past week has been different. I feel more discombobulated than normal. Maybe it’s because we’re back to an old “new” normal with school restarting and routines getting back in place. It takes me a while to adjust to change.
So, I thought I’d do something a little different this week. I’ve been so happy to see you guys responding to my emails and posts. It’s so nice to open my email and see a message from a real person and not just an advertisement.
This week, I want to continue the conversation with you and want to answer your questions. What do you want to know? It doesn’t have to be about books or writing. It can be about anything.
Send me a question, and I’ll answer them in next week’s blog post.
I truly can’t wait to continue the conversation with you!
Have a beautiful week, and here’s to new routines (whatever that looks like for you).
XO,
Piper
Hey, did you guys know I created a children’s journal? I finished it during quarantine and it released a few weeks ago. If you have littles in your life, they need this! The paperback is available on Amazon, and you can buy the digital journal here.
