Over the past eight years, I’ve learned a lot about the writing and the publishing industry including, how important book covers are. People always tell you not to judge a book by its cover, but let’s be honest. We do!
Book covers are hard. They’re also super expensive. That’s why for my Halloween short story, I’m designing the cover using Canva software. I would NEVER do this for a big release like The Murder Lawyer, but I don’t have the budget to hire a designer for a short story.

Here’s what you need to know about the story:
On October 25, my new Halloween short story A NICE ISLAND will be available exclusively for my readers’ group. It’s about a mysterious secluded island off the Georgia coast, a woman looking for a way to escape her grief, and a travel deal that might just be too good to be true. Get ready for a creepy story that might have you rethinking answering those unsolicited travel emails.
