Every writer needs their squad, and these women are part of mine!

Karen is my editor, but she doesn’t edit my blog posts. So, all grammatical errors are mine and only mine! Karen makes my writing come alive and helps me deliver a story my readers enjoy reading. She’s also a wonderful psychologist, sometimes-hand-holder, and all-round encouraging person. She puts up with my writing angst and keeps me moving. I couldn’t publish my books without her!
Shelly is my fellow “mountain climber.” We’re both climbing this massive, far-reaching mountain to our goals, and let me tell you, somedays it seems easier to summit Mount Everest. But we take it day by day, one word, one book, one project after the other. She gets the creative journey like no one else in my circle, and she dreams as big as I do—and if you know me, that’s some BIG dreaming!
I’m so lucky to have this dream team, and I can’t wait to see where the future takes us.
PS: Funny story . . . This photo was taken the day Karen and Shelly met for the “first time” together, but I’d met them separately on the same day in 2017 (maybe 2018). We were at a library event. Shelly was promoting her new book Tracing Time, and I was promoting 60 Days (Missing Girl Series Book 1), and were seated next to each other. On the other side of me was Karen, supporting one of her authors. Who knew that years later we’d come full circle, having lunch together, and taking photos. Life’s weird, you guys. It’s just so beautifully strange.
